Layout Math & Building Standards
What is the "sliver cut" warning and why does it matter?
TileFlow Pro automatically checks perimeter cut widths against a 2-inch minimum guideline. Cuts narrower than 2.0 inches can be difficult to cut cleanly on a wet saw and visually unbalanced. TileFlow Pro flags these sliver risks and calculates centered layout options to provide balanced cuts across perimeter walls.
What are the deflection standards cited on the submittal report?
We cite
IRC Table R301.7 and the
TCNA Handbook:
- L/360: Subfloor live load deflection limit reference benchmark for ceramic and porcelain tile floors.
- L/720: Subfloor live load deflection limit reference benchmark for natural stone tile floors.
Is the free calculator really 100% client-side?
Yes. All calculations in the core grid optimizer, cut schedules, and substrate takeoff execute entirely in JavaScript on your device. We do not store or transmit your room dimensions to any server.
